ANNA HOLMSTRÖM | Founder
Anna Holmström is a dynamic choreographer, dancer, and visual artist known for her original style that blends multiple artistic expressions.
Born and raised in the countryside of Sweden nature has always been close. Her love for movement started with handball and Rhythmic Gymnastics. The interest for gymnastics grew and during her active years she became Swedish champion for youths and represtended the national team on competitions throughout Europe.
Since 2010 Anna has worked as a soloist dancer with a global presence in stage productions such as Sadler’s Wells production “Message in A Bottle” at the Sydney Opera House and Flying Bach together with the world champions in breaking, the Flying Steps.
In 2015, Anna moved to Berlin and founded the artistic platform Petricore Movement.
Through collaboration with artists from around the world, she creates dance productions, workshops, exhibitions and short films that highlight the theme of sustainability, particularly in the areas of the environment, mental health, and physical well-being.
Her debut solo “Debris”, created together with composer Patrick Zylka, addresses the issue of plastic pollution in the world’s oceans and has been performed internationally across Europe and the USA, winning the “Open Your Mind” showcase competition in London in 2019.
I grew up on the countryside of Sweden in close proximity to nature. The surrounding environment: the gentle forest, the ever changing water in the lake and the fresh scent ( Petricore ) after a heavy storm, has helped shape me into the artist and human I am today.
I firmly believe that we as humans have a responsibility to think about how we treat this planet we call home and to also act accordingly.
